The users of Windows 8 feel much excitement while upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Microsoft has brought hundreds of features and functions for the users in Windows 8.1. The most common issue the users of Windows 8.1 have is its advanced UI and the Desktop Functionality. A key issue the users face in Windows 8.1 is closing apps. The users open apps and when they intend to close them, they are in dismay because there is no “x” sign on the right corner on the top of the apps that existed in previous version of Windows.

Below you will find the methods by using which you can close an app in Windows 8.1. The method of closing apps depends on your device. If you are using a desktop with keyboard and mouse, you can easily use the “Alt+F4” keys simultaneously to close an app.

The users who are on RT-based Windows need to use the “Ctrl+Alt+Del” keys simultaneously to close the app. Once they press these keys, the system will take them back to the “desktop screen” where task manager will appear on the screen and you would be able to close your desired apps.

If you want to close an app, you need to go to the “Start” button.
