Redmond is all set to release the public update of Windows 8.1 that Windows users have been waiting for a long time now. Windows 8.1 Preview is soon to hit the Windows Stores enabling users to get their eager hands on the download. Latest news has revealed the software giant is not willing to take any chances this time and hence, they have sent out invitations to selected developers via Microsoft Connect to check Windows 8.1 Preview version in 26th Of June.
Here is what the invitation sounded like:
“Please remember to back up your data prior to upgrading your systems. As with any Preview software, this is not the final version of the software. You will not be able to perform a full upgrade from Windows 8.1 Preview to Windows 8.1 RTM (the final release). You will however be able to migrate all your data to Windows 8.1 RTM.”
A newer notification has revealed the update terms regarding the apps that would need to be installed when the users getting the Preview would shift to the RTM version. This new notification was sent in Microsoft Connect with the selective developers that are to test drive the upcoming operating system.
We are going to see the Windows 8.1 Preview debuting at BUILD the coming week.
However, the RTM build will be out sometime in August or so we hope and as far as the final stable version is concerned, October is the month to look forward to as insider sources revealed.
